Tequila is the best-selling spirit in the United States. And blanco tequila is the best-selling expression.
So to be a top-rated blanco tequila is saying something, given the hundreds or thousands of blanco tequila from which consumers can choose.
Late last year, we asked Tequila Report readers (then, Tequila Jay Baer readers) to vote on their favorite tequilas. More than 1,000 of you did, making this the largest independent poll of tequila preferences available.
Here are YOUR Top 10 favorite blanco tequilas:
10. Tequila Ocho Plata Puntas

Made once each year in limited quantities by Carlos Camarena at Las Alambiques distillery in Los Altos, this high-proof blanco is made with a special distillation cut, using the end of the heads and the beginning of the hearts, bringing it in at a robust 54% ABV (2024 edition).
9. Alma del Jaguar Nocturna Blanco

Using only wild yeast, Sergio Cruz at NOM 1414 crafts this unfiltered 50.5% ABV beauty
$68.99 (Insiders save 10%)
8. Volans Still Strength Blanco

Felipe Camarena is the master distiller at El Pandillo and is at the height of his powers when producing this Volans still strength blanco. Three separate water sources (rain water, well water, spring water) are used and then this high-proof is bottled right off the still at 54% ABV.
$84.99 (Savings for Insiders)
7. Cascahuín Plata 48

Well-known and much loved high-proof blanco made by Salvador “Chava” Rosales at NOM 1123 in El Arenal. One of the tequilas that helped propel the high proof trend a few years ago. 48% ABV.
$85.99 (Insiders save 10%)
6. Don Fulano Fuerte Blanco

Made at NOM 1146 in The Valley with agaves sourced from The Highlands, Don Fulano Fuerte is another high-proof blanco that helped popularize the style. Unusually, this tequila is rested for 6 months in stainless steel before bottling. 50% ABV
$56.99 (savings for Insiders)
5. Cazcanes #10 Blanco

The strongest of Cazcanes’ three blanco expressions, the #10 uses very ripe agaves and is aerated and then rested for 1-3 months in stainless steel before bottling. 50% ABV.
$119.99 (Insiders save 10%)
4. Tapatio 110 Blanco

Perhaps the first high-proof blanco, Tapatio 110 was originally created at the request of bartenders touring the legendary La Alteña distillery. Given tastes of tequila coming right off the still, they asked “can you just bottle THAT?” The rest is history. 55% ABV.
$69.99 (Insiders save 10%)
3. Fortaleza Still Strength Blanco

Certainly many people’s favorite high-proof blanco, and one of the most widely known, Fortaleza is also one of the lowest ABV still strength tequilas (46%) owing to the artisanal and somewhat inefficient copper stills used at the distillery.
2. G4 108 Blanco

Relatively new expression from Felipe Camarena at NOM 1579 in Jesus Maria, this G4 108 is packed with agave sweetness and black pepper notes. 54% ABV.
$59.99 (Insiders save 10%)
1. LALO High Proof Blanco

Famously co-founded by Lalo Gonzalez, grandson of Don Julio Gonzalez, each year LALO releases a high-proof blanco. This second edition (2025) markedly different than the prior edition, with champagne yeast and no water added post-distillation. 50% ABV.
