As defending champion in my fantasy football league, and formerly a long-time Arizona Cardinals season ticket holder, I sit in the middle of the intersection between NFL fans and tequila fans.

Of course tequila is made in Mexico. So when a brand calls itself "Baltimore's tequila" or "Atlanta's tequila," it's not claiming the spirit was distilled downtown next to the city park. It's claiming the people behind the bottle, like the founders, the company, the investors, call that region home.

We set out to find one or more tequila brands with real roots in every NFL market. Some cities have a true hometown pour, and some don’t as much. We sorted each pick by what kind of connection actually ties the brand to your team.

A true upstate-New York brand, founded in Saratoga Springs by Lisa Elovich. The tequila is also organic certified. When the Bills are in the playoffs (and they usually are these days), you'll want something smooth. Here you go.

Miami-made and the world's first coffee-aged tequila. This is a South Florida original with a genuinely bold angle. Lots of other good choices for the area, too, including CasAzar.

Launched by Boston-based Latitude Beverage, this is a true nor-easter. You might also lean toward Flecha Azul, where famous Bostonian Mark Wahlberg is investor and front man.

New York-based, small-batch, and unapologetically a city brand. Sometimes the simple answer is the right one.

Founded by Baltimore brothers William and Donta Henson, this is a Black-owned hometown brand born right in the city. Play Like a Raven.

The Bengals' actual tequila partner at Paycor Stadium is Rey Supremo, no doubt in part because they’re based in Sandusky, Ohio. An official hometown tequila? Good combo, like Burrow to Higgins.

No Cleveland-HQ tequila is out there specifically, maybe because of the arduous Ohio rules governing booze. So the pick is Cantera Negra, co-owned and imported by Two Sons Imports out of Dayton. La Caza, while based in Austin, has a lot of their investors in Cleveland, so that’s a valid choice.

The only Pennsylvania tequila with a football story. "Born in Mexico, Raised in PA" is literally this brand's thesis, and it's founded by Penn State alums, the former NFL players Mike Mauti and Christian Hackenberg. Like Aaron Rodgers’ ability to throw downfield, this one is a bit of a stretch, but it works.

Houston-based and veteran-owned, this is a true hometown brand in a cool, square bottle. The other pick is the big guy, 1800, which is the Texans' official tequila and margarita.

Indianapolis-based organic tequila Desnuda is based in the Circle City and is a partner of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indy Eleven soccer.

Managed out of downtown Jacksonville since 2017, Blue Lava is a Jax-rooted brand, and you don’t need to be a two-way player to enjoy it.

Founded in Nashville by two brothers in 2017, TC Craft is particularly popular and available all over NashVegas. Another solid choice is the area-owned Southbound which also has ties to the local music scene.

Boulder-based maker of excellent, tahona-crushed tequila, as well as canned tequila seltzers perfect for a tailgate. Suerte is available all around Colorado. Other good picks for the region are Montagave from Aspen (and France), and Dos Ångeles Caídos, from Denver.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is an equity investor in Casa Azul, alongside some other celebs. They also make a canned tequila seltzer. Not a hometown brand, but if you like the Chiefs, you’re probably on the Kelce train, too.

Named the Raiders' official tequila partner in July 2026, Bandero is the tequila you’ll find in the stadium and around Vegas. Nice blanco. Backup plans include locally-founded Telsón.

Los Angeles-based (Hermosa Beach) Nosotros is a real LA brand. It was even concocted originally as an assignment for a nearby college class. If you like Justin Hebert and haven’t completely soured on San Diego since the relocation of the team, you might give some love to Fortaleza (if you can find it), as fifth-generation impresario and current sales and marketing head Billy Erickson lives in SD.

Co-founded by Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Volteo was built by Dak with the Zamora Company in Dallas. This one would be an easy touchdown, but there are a LOT of excellent Dallas-area tequila brands including Socorro, La Pulga, and Mijenta.

Based in New York (Manhasset). Hiatus owner Kris DeSoto is an adopted New Yorker making a solid spirit in the town of Tequila. I’m not actually sure if DeSoto is a Giants or Jets fan, but let’s assume he cheers for the team that’s actually good (historically, if not currently).

The Eagles' Official Luxury Tequila, which makes sense because Gran Coramino co-founder Kevin Hart is a Philadelphia native, although not nearly as fast as Saquan.

Founded by D.C. native Tiffany Hainesworth, this is the first tequila brand to be solely owned by a Black woman. This one’s a real hometown story.

Lots of good options here, but we went with Cambio, a craft brand founded by a Chicago chef who loves to experiment like Ben Johnson calling plays. The brand is also a Cubs partner. Excellent alternate choices include Authentico, based in Chicago and co-owned by a local family, as well as the female-focused Inspiro, founded by a Windy City attorney.

Royal Oak, Michigan, near Detroit, is home to this, the world's first kosher tequila. It's a tasty one. Cabresto, founded in SW Michigan, is also a solid pour if you’re on the Goff + Gibbs game day scene.

Created by three Wisconsin friends, this is a genuine Badger State pour. You’ll find Manuscrito in better bars and retailers within a Jordan Love spiral of Lambeau. Top-notch backup plan is El Bandido Yankee, co-founded by former Packer Jim Bob Morris.

The Skol juice. Canción was originally created in Arizona alongside desert rocker Roger Clyne, but has since relocated and expanded in the Minneapolis area. If the Kyler Murray Experience works like it did in AZ, you’ll be hitting the Canción HARD this year.

Atlanta-based, and born out of the Monday Night Brewing orbit, this is a real hometown brand that also makes the excellent tequila seltzers Yacht Water. Also on the Hotlanta scene is the Goza brand.

This one is a little tenuous. Despite lots of searching, we couldn't find any brands with deep Carolina or Charlotte roots, so we went with Cincoro, co-founded by local favorite son Michael Jordan.

The Saints like to party, so it's no surprise they're one of the few NFL franchises with an official tequila partner, in this case, Patrón. You’ll find it all over the stadium.

Blue Head is Tampa-based and was devised in a Tampa bar. This is a solid pick, although it might be hard to find, as is the backup Dulce Oro, also founded and run within sight of the pirate ship.

My downtrodden and woe-begotten squad at least has a good tequila to adopt. It is the Scottsdale-based Corrido. Do a shot for every Jeremiyah Love touchdown and another for every sprained ankle, and let me know the tally after the season. Two good alternates are 3 Amigos and Borracho.

Founded and based in Los Angeles, Cazcanes keeps turning out excellent bottles. Also, CEO Edwin Dolgopyat is a big Rams fan himself. In between Puka catches, you might also choose to sip Celaya, founded in LA by ex-NFL linemen Matt and Ryan Kalil.

Rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area, this rising brand also makes a no-alcohol tequila alternative in case the game goes into overtime. Two other good picks for Niners freaks are Partida (Oakland), and Don Pilar (Belmont).

Not a lot of tequila brands in Washington, so we went with the best regional option, the Portland-based Acre Largo, run by two very tall brothers.
