Terralta is produced by master distiller Felipe Camarena at the renowned El Pandillo Distillery (NOM 1579) in Jesús María, Jalisco.
The name Terralta, meaning "high land," pays tribute to the Highlands of Jalisco, where the agaves used for the brand are grown.
Introduced in 2017, Terralta has earned a strong reputation among tequila enthusiasts for its consistency, transparency, and traditional approach to tequila production.
As one of several brands crafted by Camarena, Terralta has developed its own identity and loyal following, becoming a respected choice for those seeking a well-made tequila that reflects the character of its origin.
Nose is somewhat light but very clean, with a nice sweet agave and wet stone minerality, oak, cinnamon, cherry, brown sugar, pepper, orange peel, a hint of bourbon, and mint.
The taste profile is light as well, but pleasant and enjoyable. The subtle barrel notes really help complement the sweet cooked agave. Notes of minerality, oak, pepper, black cherry, lime, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and butter.
Mouthfeel has a light oily feel with a nice soft finish of oak, cherry, and cinnamon.
The barrel influence is very light on this one, but it truly complements and highlights the agave along with the El Pandillo DNA.
