Real Del Valle was created when a group of industry friends recognized a growing demand in the San Diego market for high-quality agave spirits at an affordable price. In 2020, they traveled to Mexico to meet with agave farmers and explore potential partnerships, and from that trip, Real Del Valle was born.
The agave is grown in the valleys of Guanajuato and the tequila is produced in Jalisco. Built with bartenders in mind, the goal was to create an artisanal tequila that could serve as the foundation of a quality cocktail program without carrying a premium price tag.
One of the most unique aspects of the brand is its commitment to the agaveros (farmers). Rather than simply supplying agave, the farmers are co-owners of the brand.
This reposado is made from 6-year-old agave that is cooked using a combination of traditional brick ovens and high-pressure autoclaves.
Fermentation is done with water, agave, and yeast before the tequila is rested in oak barrels for 4 to 6 months.
Nose: Citrus, sweet cooked agave, oak, white pepper, and a touch of vanilla.
Taste: Baking spice, vanilla, citrus, cooked agave, and roasted almonds.
Finish: Light oak spice with notes of vanilla and caramel. Cooked agave lingers alongside a pleasant white pepper note.
Created by bartenders for bartenders, Real Del Valle Reposado delivers solid quality at an approachable price point. The balance of agave, oak, and spice makes it versatile enough for cocktails while still offering enough character to enjoy neat. For those looking for a well-made reposado under $35, this bottle checks all the boxes.
