Marcado 28 Reposado is a well-balanced tequila that leans into tradition.
Produced at the Auténtica distillery (NOM 1502), Marcado is aged for eight months in American oak—well beyond the minimum—yet still maintains a solid agave presence.
Co-founded by American chef, restaurateur, author, and Top Chef season 6 winner Michael Voltaggio, alongside Bruno Barba of the Romo family’s 10th generation of agave cultivation and tequila production, the brand brings a measured approach to flavor and craftsmanship.
On the nose I get cooked agave, backed by little honey, caramel, subtle spice, and a touch of nuttiness.
The palate opens with that same agave core, soft vanilla and caramel, with hints of citrus and light cocoa. A faint smokiness and gentle herbal note carry through.
The finish is medium to long, warm but controlled, with mild sweetness and spice.
Marcado 28 is not overly complex, but it delivers a clean, balanced, and an easy-drinking reposado.
