Gran Coramino is the brainchild of famed actor and comedian Kevin Hart and 11th generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann, from the Cuervo tequila family.
This tequila featuresa beautiful bottle design; it’s slightly twisted or swirling. It’s definitely made to stand out among other bottles.
Gran Coramino means big heart, and the production method for this tequila does have a lot of heart and artistry in it. Agave is roasted in traditional brick ovens, fermented, and double-distilled in copper pot stills at La Rojeña Distillery. The tequila is then aged more than six months in Eastern European oak and California Cabernet wine barrels before being slow-filtered for a smooth, clear finish.
Unfortunately, the finished product doesn't satisfy in the way the production specifications might suggest.
Aromas A strong aroma of rubbing alcohol, pepper, followed by vanilla.
Flavor: Again you get vanilla, cream soda, then turns to a slight bitterness. Not a trace of cooked agave. Artificial flavors come through.
Finish: A little astringent, the aftertaste is bland, a combination of alcohol and fake sweetness.
