G4 is crafted by master distiller Felipe Camarena, nicknamed “the Mad Scientist.” He is a man driven by purpose. Felipe has said many times that he is not in the business of pretty bottles; he is in the business of making great tequila. G4 Reposado is, in fact, a great tequila.

Felipe likes to say he rests his aged expressions rather than aging them, letting the agave shine without being overpowered by the wood.

Since adopting newer first-fill ex-bourbon barrels at the start of 2025, G4 has cut reposado aging to 2–4 months to keep the wood in check while still yielding a slightly sweeter profile than earlier batches.

G4 is also uniquely blended using equal parts rainwater and spring water in its production process, tying each batch to its Highland terroir. All the agaves go into masonry ovens that cook from the top and bottom, ensuring even cooking. These are just a couple of Felipe’s innovations.

Aromas: Cooked agave, baking spices, and light citrus notes on the nose.

Flavor Profile: Subtle complexity with cooked agave, minerality, citrus, light vanilla, cinnamon, baking spices, and a touch of black pepper.

Finish: A clean, long, lingering finish with a mix of baking spice and sweet agave notes.

This is an amazing example of a well-balanced, vibrant reposado. It is well-priced and now available in all 50 states.
