G4 Blanco is produced at the famed El Pandillo distillery (NOM 1579) in Jesús María, Jalisco, with Felipe Camarena at the helm.
The Camarena family has been making tequila since 1937, and G4 represents its fourth-generation legacy, now carried forward by Felipe and his sons.
G4 Blanco is, in my opinion, the standard for what a blanco should be. It’s incredibly versatile, great sipped neat, works well in cocktails, and at 80 proof, it still has plenty of depth and character.
The attention to detail is what really stands out. The agave is cooked in brick ovens for 28 hours, crushed using the famous Felipestein tahona, and fermented in a combination of stainless-steel and wood tanks.
Another unique part of G4 is its water sources: 53% rainwater and 47% mountain spring water for this blanco.
Nose: agave, earth, minerals, citrus, white pepper, cinnamon, salinity
Taste: cooked agave, black pepper, minerals, citrus, floral notes, raw agave
Finish: cooked agave with a lingering salinity
Whenever someone asks me what tequila they should try, one of my first answers is always G4 Blanco.
The story, the legacy, the process, and most importantly, the flavor all make G4 Blanco an absolute benchmark for blanco tequila.
It’s an All-Time Great!
