Todd Hummel is the CEO and owner of Elevación 1250. He’s an advertising executive from Toronto, Ontario in Canada… Wait, a Canadian-owned Tequila company? Well, something needs to be Canadian besides poutine and hockey, I guess.
They say you love all your children the same, but if you catch Todd at the right time, he will tell you this is his favorite child.
Made at Hacienda del Oro (NOM 1522), by fourth generation master distiller Iliana Partida, who is also a shareholder in the brand.
Todd was so impressed by Iliana he wanted to name the tequila after her, but she politely declined that honor. However, the brand IS named after the elevation of Iliana’s Distillery at 1250 meters above sea level.
In addition, each label shows the precise geographic coordinates of the distillery where this tequila is made.
This Reposado is aged in American oak barrels for a minimum of four months, but the final recipe will vary. As Iliana is fond of saying, “Let the tequila decide when it is ready.“
I find this tequila easy to enjoy for all, from the novice tequila drinkers to true tequila aficionados. I would highly recommend this to sip or for cocktails. SALUD!
