Chris Cardenas is the founder and president of Cardenas Legacy Tequila, a veteran-owned brand focused on producing traditionally made tequila from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former concert promoter, Cardenas developed a deep appreciation for tequila while living in Puerto Vallarta and learning about the culture surrounding agave spirits. That experience inspired him to create a brand rooted in authenticity and quality.
Working with master distiller Francisco Gonzalez Jr. out of Grupo Tequilero Mexico (NOM 1468) in Arandas, Cardenas Legacy Tequila emphasizes traditional production methods and a commitment to crafting a tequila meant to be sipped, respected, and shared with a growing community of enthusiasts.
This añejo was aged for 30 months in American white oak bourbon barrels and then rested in stainless steel for 2 months before being bottled.
Nose - Strong but balanced start of caramel, oak and baking spices. Followed by creamy vanilla, cherry, agave and berries. Ending with apple, raisin, banana, leather and whiskey.
Taste - A rich profile that comes out swinging with Barrel spice, toffee, cherry cola, vanilla and agave. Followed by a nice melody of fruits, cocoa, leather, and anise.
Finish - Hints of anise, pepper and honey. A slightly viscous mouthfeel with a complex finish of average duration.
