Tears of Llorona extra añejo is a tequila aged for five years in Scotch, Sherry, and Cognac barrels. The result is a rich and complex profile. It is an allocated bottle priced at around $300, if you can find it. Although it is sold in a 1-liter format, making it more like $220 for 750ml worth of tequila.

Nose: The aroma is bold with notes of oak, light cooked agave, cherry, caramel, vanilla and butter.

Taste: The palate offers a strong oak profile with light cooked agave, caramel, butterscotch and some cinnamon.

Finish: The finish is dry with a little bit of oak, followed by some barrel spice.

This is a bourbon lover's dream if wanting to get into tequila while also giving it an exceptional complexity to tequila connoisseurs.
