Famously co-owned by Lalo Gonzalez, grandson of famous tequilero Don Julio Gonzalez, this is one of the fastest-growing (and now, most popular) tequila brands in the United States.

They currently make only two expressions: blanco, and this high proof blanco. Recipe for the high proof changed between the original 2024 edition, and this 2025 offering.

This high proof blanco checks in at 50% ABV and was The Tequila Report Readers’ Choice Winner for best high-proof blanco tequila overall.

It’s an excellent tequila - and more interesting than their solid but neutral regular blanco - but I wouldn’t consider it to be the BEST high proof, at least for me.

This tequila is packed with flavor, which makes sense because it’s distilled to proof. No water is added.

Aroma has significant amounts of brine and green olive and anise, but also has a lot of raw agave.

The viscosity is perhaps a little thin for a high proof, but by no means objectionable.

The agave sweetness absolutely explodes on your palate, with secondary vegetal notes, citrus, and a hint of black licorice.

Medium-long delicious finish. Not massively complex, but this is an outstanding tequila to try if you’ve not yet tried a high proof blanco.
