8 year Highland (red clay soil, mineral-rich in iron) agaves were used to make the first High Proof expression from General Gorostieta. All single estate grown agaves were used, from Luis Torres, the brand owner’s nearby hacienda. Picked at an average brix level of 45! (compared to average of 25-30 in the industry)

This high sugar content produces a lot of agave sweetness! This is one of my all time favorite high proof blanco tequilas.

Aromas: Sweet cooked agave, some great minerality, citrus, light cinnamon notes, along with some pepper.

Flavor Profile: With a medium-to-full bodied mouth feel, just like the nose, there is a punch of sweet cooked agave, enhanced by its higher proof. There is no real heat here on the palate though, just light white pepper, fresh citrus notes, some great minerality, and mintiness.

Finish: A blast of sweetness from that sweet cooked agave, cinnamon and spice. That sweet cooked agave stays and lingers on and on. This is such an amazing blanco!
