Don Fulano Tequila is produced by the Fonseca family—fifth-generation agave growers in the Highlands of Jalisco—who established their own distillery, La Tequileña Distillery (NOM 1146) after decades supplying agave to other producers. The brand uses estate-grown mature highland agave, volcanic spring water, copper pot stills and proprietary yeast, with no additives, to craft a distilled spirit grounded in terroir and craftsmanship. Don Fulano’s expressions range from Blanco to long-aged releases like Imperial, reflecting both tradition and innovation in the tequila world.
Nose: Sweet agave and citrus start the show then some earthy notes and a bright fruitiness ending with some light funk.
Taste: Agave, pepper and minerality start strong then comes the funk, citrus, brine and earth then finishes off with an herbal minty warmth that fades slowly. Nice light but creamy mouthfeel.
This blanco is 50% ABV and was one of the first high proof craft tequilas launched to the U.S. market.
