Quintaliza is a trailblazer looking for that perfect marriage of tequila and coffee. This reposado is rested two months in ex-bourbon barrels then another three months in barrels that previously held cold brew coffee from Chiapas, Mexico.
Cozy aromas of dark chocolate, oak, barrel spice, dark cherries, and agave greet you.
Bold flavors include tobacco, dark chocolate, oak, barrel spices, leather, and coffee.
There’s a slight bitter twang from the oak and coffee notes that fades fast with a short overall finish.
This barrel-forward reposado delivers a coffee-like experience that drinks and looks more like an añejo. This is a coffee-tinted reposado, not a liqueur or anything too heavy. It’s a nice cold-weather sip and a great cocktail inspiration–think carajillo, old fashioned, espresso or chocolate martini!
