La Pulga Tequila was born from a deep sense of community, created by three Fort Worth natives to honor the spirit of the historic "La Pulga" open-air market on the city's North Side, a community gathering place since the 1940s. Distilled in the town of Capilla de Guadalupe in the highlands of Jalisco at NOM 1068 using mostly modern production methods, this blanco celebrates the strong cultural ties between Mexico and Texas.
Nose: Cooked agave leads, followed by floral notes and distinct grapefruit, with underlying notes of cinnamon and anise.
Taste: Classic cooked agave leads the palate. There is a slight mintiness, distinct grapefruit notes, and a gentle presence of green peppers.
Finish: It ends clean and bright, centered around floral components, citrus, and a lingering hint of cinnamon.
Priced right, La Pulga blanco is a nice, versatile offering. It’s a great bottle to have on hand as a daily sipper or capable of being mixed into cocktails without much guilt, delivering solid flavor all around.
