This is an interesting brand rooted in Southern California that has been around for a long time, and has a lot of different expressions. Somewhat recently, they shifted their flavor profile away from a sweeter approach, and embraced the “3 ingredients” ethos of water, agave, and yeast only.
Like all of their tequilas, AsomBroso is certified Kosher and is packaged in an….interesting….bottle that certainly sparks conversation.
Inside, this Eros Silver (blanco) is an approachable and crisp spirit that will be a fan favorite for folks that don’t crave too much oomph in their glass.
Aroma is very clean, with a faint herbal note and some minerals. It’s what I imagine clouds would smell like. Or a really, really, really fancy laundromat.
Flavor is solid and well-structured, while not possessing layer upon layer of complexity. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin and finish is a bit short, but in-between you’ll find a very pleasing combo of lemon, orange, mint, with a stronger herbal and saline essences that are both unusual and intriguing.
Would be a good mixer in a paloma or Mexican mule. Probably not a great option for a margarita. But also a legit choice as a matter-of-fact sipper that won’t break the bank.
