Alma del Jaguar blanco is an excellent introduction for consumers who aren’t yet accustomed to sipping blancos, those who may still think of them as strictly for mixing.
On the nose, it opens with inviting aromas of cooked agave, mint, citrus, and subtle floral notes. The palate follows with a well-balanced blend of herbal tones, bright citrus zest, and a gentle agave sweetness that lingers softly on the finish.
In countless tastings, I’ve found Alma del Jaguar to be a pleasant surprise for those hesitant to sip blancos, or tequila in general. While it doesn’t aim for intense complexity, it delivers approachability and balance, making it a great stepping stone into the world of sipping tequilas.
I especially enjoy comparing the core blanco with the Nocturna 101 high proof blanco at 51.5% ABV. Their contrast offers a fascinating look at how subtle variations in production can shift a tequila’s entire personality.
