Laelia Tequila is a brand launched in 2025 by fourth-generation agave grower Fernando Pérez Ontiveros.
It’s produced at Casa Natima, a distillery in Amatitán in the Valley of Jalisco, operating under NOM 1607 and owned by Grupo Solave.
Casa Natima was established as part of the family’s expansion from agave cultivation into distillation. The tequila is overseen by master distiller Carlos R. Huízar, an industry veteran who previously worked with Jose Cuervo. Laelia is the distillery’s first proprietary brand, made using estate-grown agave and traditional production methods. The nose is straightforward with mild complexity.
Aromas of agave, herbs, slate, green olive, citrus, grapefruit rind, musk, cinnamon and a touch of black pepper.
Taste: Agave hits first followed by, minerals, herbs, honey, citrus, oak, a slight metallic note, fresh soil, and black pepper.
Ending with cinnamon, green pepper and earth with a nice viscosity.
This Blanco spends around 14 days rested in a barrel. A unique Blanco made with traditional methods that can be enjoyed neat or for me, makes a great ranch water cocktail.
