La Pulga tequila has always worn its Texas roots proudly. Created by three Fort Worth natives to honor the historic La Pulga open-air market on the city's North Side, the brand was built around celebrating the cultural connection between Mexico and Texas. This limited-edition reposado takes that idea a step further through a collaboration with Still Austin Whiskey Co., one of Texas's most recognizable whiskey producers.

As a Highland tequila produced at Agroindustria Guadalajara (NOM 1068) in Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco, this reposado undergoes a double-barrel aging process that starts as their seven-month reposado, then finishes in used red corn bourbon barrels from Still Austin Whiskey Co. The result is a richer, more layered take on the original, bottled at 45% ABV.

Nose: Oak, honey, sweet corn, cooked agave, caramel, roasted nuts, baking spices, and a light touch of anise.

Taste: Honey and oak lead into caramel, citrus, roasted nuts, baking spice, and soft melon notes.

Finish: Herbal agave, baking spice, and lingering anise.

The second barrel rest adds noticeable richness and structure compared to the core reposado, bringing more depth to the profile. At its price point, this sits in a very fair spot for what you’re getting. This is a limited release worth grabbing while it’s available, and honestly, one I wish had a spot in their permanent lineup.
