Steve Vera made a bold call: move production of his Still Strength to NOM 1551, using his own Michoacán agaves. The result speaks for itself. Traditionally made with no shortcuts, these agaves shine brighter here than they did at the old NOM — slow-roasted in brick ovens for 24 hours, rested an extra day, milled, naturally fermented in stainless steel, and bottled straight from the still.

Nose: Layered and complex — cooked agave, butter, cinnamon, citrus, mint, and a vegetal note grounded by a touch of minerality.

Palate: Those same notes carry through, led by cooked agave, citrus, and a green vegetal core. Honey, butter, cinnamon, and light pepper follow, with a mineral thread that lingers.

Finish: This is where the bottle earns its keep. The sweet cooked agave from the Michoacán fields steps forward and finally tastes the way it was meant to — full, expressive, and unmistakably Steve's.

We're often skeptical when a brand switches NOMs. Not this time. Steve made the right call, and the glass proves it.
