Don Vicente is one of those delicious NOM 1579 brands that just rocks your taste buds.
Don Vicente has a great Fuerte (high proof) blanco expression that got a lot of attention from connoisseurs who are now eager to taste this reposado; it does NOT disappoint. In fact, it’s delicious.
This 52% ABV has the taste firepower you want, but has a good finish too. It doesn’t drink like the high proof it is.
It delivers a BIG citrus note and sweet agave that round out with a small pop of jalapeño. Despite the heavy citrus taste at the front of the sip (which I like) it’s well balanced and a great pour.
Nose: cooked agave / butter / vanilla / hint of cinnamon / hint of vegetal and herbal scents / apple / hint of lime / fresh cut hay / hint of baking spices / molasses / hint of chocolate / cream soda
Taste: spicy cinnamon / big citrus kick up front / sweet cooked agave / pepper / vanilla / caramel / cherry / pineapple / peach / lime/ citrus / lemongrass / baking spices / hint of jalapeno / molasses / minerals
Finish: light viscosity leaves a watery wet feeling that lets the great tastes slip away a little too quick / lime and sweetness linger and let a minty light peppermint flavor dance on your palate as the last part of the sip ends / has a great balanced finished despite the quick / the jalapeno creeps in a little bit on the last swallow to add some spice to the sweet.
